16. What are the maximum dimensions allowed to transport a wheelchair or mobility device in the aircraft cabin?

Mobility assistance devices may be transported in the cabin, as long as they can be safely stored in the overhead bin or in the aircraft closet, if available (closet availability depends on the configuration of each aircraft).

Approximate maximum dimensions according to available onboard space:

Overhead bin:
  47” (length) x 17” (height) x 20” (depth)
  [119 cm x 43 cm x 51 cm]

Aircraft closet (if available):
  56” (height) x 41” (length) x 13” (width)
  [144 cm x 104 cm x 35 cm approx.]

If the device exceeds these dimensions or cannot be safely accommodated, it will be transported in the cargo hold at no additional cost.
